Computer Update and Emptying the Bookmarks folder

We've been doing some upgrading on my computer lately, and with the holidays and all those activities, that meant that putting Vista on my computer took about 3 days.  But I'm enjoying it so far and the extra RAM the hubby got me for Christmas seems to be doing good things for my computer.

I've been using a new web browser - Google Chrome.  It has some pretty slick features.  I'm not totally thrilled with how the bookmarks works.  I like about half the features and the ones I like are pretty cool.  I'd suggest you give it a preview.

With this bookmarks issue, plus the fact that I tend to bookmark a lot, leads me to this next batch of sites.  I had a couple of classes in college about advertising and production.  I saved a couple of my favorite sites. 

1.  Absolut Vodka Ads - Absolut does some of the coolest ads.  The include a hidden bottle or more in many of their print ads.  See if you can find them!

2.  Clark Sorensen - Ok, this doesn't really fit in this category, but it is pretty cool.  Who ever came up with the idea to paint urinals?

3.  Creative Advertisements - Very creative advertising.  

4.  Billboardom - Postings of funny billboards.  I would love to see some of these in person.

Check these out Daily

There are two blogs that I tend to check daily. I giggle and make my husband come and look at them. So now I've got him looking over my shoulder when I'm on the sites.

1. Bits & Pieces - Jonco does a great job of finding all the funny stuff floating around the 'net right now so you don't have too. I've even started going through all the archives because I can't get enough. And he updates several times a day, so you usually find something new every time you visit!

2. Cake Wrecks - What a great idea this blog was! I cannot believe some of these cakes are real! And Jen has the greatest sense of humor - her commentary on the cakes is totally work the 'Best Humor Blog' nomination!

Blogs to Fill Your Tummy

I like to cook and since I've got the time, I try and find new recipes all the time. I'm obsessed with blogs that post recipes and pictures of their food. I've found so many I want to try and even more that I'm too scared to try! Hopefully someday. : )

1. Bakerella - made famous for her cake pops! Great cake and cupcake ideas and awesome pictures of them too!

2. For The Love of Cooking - Also great pictures and often step by step!

3. Picky Palate - Very classy and some great looking recipes!

4. Priscilla's Baking Adventures - Probably my favorite because it's my kind of cookies! Very simple, everyday recipes by a very talented young lady!


There are plenty more, but these are the ones I check often. Thanks to all these ladies for their food, thoughts and pictures!

A Place for My Stash

I am currently unemployed and therefore have a lot of time to 'read the internet' as they say. So that means that every day I am finding new sites, new pictures, new random tibits of information that I, in my pakrat way, want to save to probably never look at again. The hope is this blog will give me room to leave those things without filling up My Documents or My Favorites to complete bursting. And if I can lead someone else out there to their new favorite site, then my time of unemployment will be fullfilled.
