Gift Cards, Shopping and Coupons!

I'm going through my bookmarks folder again and found that I had a lot of sites that have coupon codes and offer gift card trading and buy back.  It's not a busy shopping time right now, but with the economy, anyone could use a coupon or two!

(For now, because there are so many, I'm just going to list them and then I'll come back and add a brief description!)

4.  Keycode - Coupons, Coupon Codes, Online Coupons, Discounts, Online Deals

5.  Restaurant.com - Deals on neighborhood restaurants.   $25 restaurant certificates for only $10

A Site that Deserves a Post of its Own

This is a cool site.  Don't be alarmed that it's not in english - you won't need to read anything!  Just load it and watch!

Trust me - watch it!

From the Folder I Call 'Interesting and Random'

I somehow happen to stumble across some very random stuff on the internet.  I'm sure there's stranger out there, but I think I'd rather not go there.

These are just a selection of them I'm going through today.

1.  CV Gadget - Kinda like googling yourself, but better.  Interesting to see where you are listed on the web.

2.  Census Atlas - Interesting charts and tables about the US of A.  Census data since the 1920s.  You can get a very good overview of the population.

3.  Fark - Collection of 'weird but true' news stories.  You'll find something to say 'huh' at on this site.

4.  Human Flip Book - If you haven't seen this, you need to watch it.  Way cool.  Seriously.

5.  Eternal Sunset - See the sunset all over the world.  Some pretty cool pictures.

6.  How Many of Me -  Another way to see if there is anyone out there like you.  There's only one of me if I use my maiden name - and 6 of me with my married name.  How cool is that.

Healthy Thinking

These are a couple of sites that would be good references for everyone.  Health and medical information sites.  I haven't used them too much yet, knock on wood.

1.  KidsHealth - also has a teens page and a parents page.

2.  MedlinePlus - a government website with a lot of information about medical terminology and drug information

3.  PDRHealth - tons of information on everything health and medical related

4.  Family Doctor - another comprehensive site

5.  OR - Live - interesting site to watch surgeries, without all the drama of a tv show

More Computer Sites

I feel like I've been talking about my computer a lot.  Considering that I'm on it the entire day, it's probably pretty reasonable.  I'm clearing out my bookmarks and I have a bunch of computer-related ones.  Mostly programs that I've come across and think (thought) that I'd use someday.  Forgive the short descriptions, I haven't used most of these and I just want a record of them that's not on my computer.

1.  Fonts - tons of downloadable fonts

2.  Audacity - a sounds and music editor

3.  Custom Address Book -  comes with extra functions to get your addresses organized

4.  Jumpcut - edit your videos

5.  Blurb - make your own book

6.  Mosaic Maker - create photo mosaics from digital photos

7.  Pingg - Online Invitations, party planning and event management

8.  Picnik - edit photos the easy way, online in your browser

9.  Post In Notes - sticky notes freeware for your desktop

10.  Webware - blog of cool web apps for everyone

Is a picture is worth a 1000 words...or 9 cents?

I've been working on getting all our wedding pictures squared away..all 1000+ of them.  It will be a full 3 inch binder.  But I think it's worth it.  : )

1.  Snapfish - This is where I order most of my photos from.  I usually do it when they have deals.  Sometimes 20 prints for a penny each.  It usually ends up being between 10 and 15 cents per print including shipping and handling.  Plus they have a bunch of the photogifts and occassionaly give you free prints if you've bought enough.  It's easy to use and I haven't had any trouble with them yet (knock on wood).  If you are interested in signing up (it's free!), please let me know so I can refer you and we both can get some free prints!

2.  Shutterfly - Another photo uploading and printing site.  Maybe a little more upscale than Snapfish, but good quality and still easy to use.  I actually got a free photobook from them after the wedding.

3.  Winkflash - I haven't used this one yet.  They say it's a good place to actually store your photos and be able to download them again.

4.  SmugMug - Likewise with this one.  I haven't looked into it yet, but have heard too reviews.

5.  Photobucket - I've used this a bit for sharing photos.  I haven't found a good way for people to download the pictures off of it yet tho.

6.  MyPictureTown - I reccently used this one to upload pictures of a friend's wedding to share with other friends.  It looks like downloading them will be pretty easy.  I haven't heard any input back from them yet, but it looks promising.

I use Walmart alot to order pictures too.  It's easy to pick them up in store and they have customer service that I can directly talk to there.

Computer Update and Emptying the Bookmarks folder

We've been doing some upgrading on my computer lately, and with the holidays and all those activities, that meant that putting Vista on my computer took about 3 days.  But I'm enjoying it so far and the extra RAM the hubby got me for Christmas seems to be doing good things for my computer.

I've been using a new web browser - Google Chrome.  It has some pretty slick features.  I'm not totally thrilled with how the bookmarks works.  I like about half the features and the ones I like are pretty cool.  I'd suggest you give it a preview.

With this bookmarks issue, plus the fact that I tend to bookmark a lot, leads me to this next batch of sites.  I had a couple of classes in college about advertising and production.  I saved a couple of my favorite sites.

1.  Absolut Vodka Ads - Absolut does some of the coolest ads.  The include a hidden bottle or more in many of their print ads.  See if you can find them!

2.  Clark Sorensen - Ok, this doesn't really fit in this category, but it is pretty cool.  Who ever came up with the idea to paint urinals?

3.  Creative Advertisements - Very creative advertising.

4.  Billboardom - Postings of funny billboards.  I would love to see some of these in person.
